What a delight to walk from the Pub to the show and back again. While the show had some rough moments, it was certainly one of my favorites. Home turf adds a nice feeling to the experience.
Burlington is a completely beautiful small, small city sitting right on top of Lake Champlain. It should be "The People's Republic of Burlington", very progressive in a lot of ways. It is a joy to walk around in and has a very high consciousness. Sometimes a little too progressive, but what can you do? It's hard to believe the Grateful Dead played there twice.
Wish I could ask Sherman to set the "Way-Back" machine and relive those moments!
I was sitting in the bleachers at this show and when everyone was dancing they were shaking like you wouldn't believe. We're lucky they didn't collapse.
I also remember that Phil's bass was making the roof shake like crazy. This was a relatively small gym, at least by college standards, and the boys rocked the place like crazy. Definitely a memorable show.
I live in Burlington, know the gym, and heard the soundboard. Ouch. Was it really that good?
Heard James Brown play at Patrick Gymnasium in '99. Now, THAT was a time!
