Was a really old and funky place and a great venue to see the Grateful Dead. This was the place where I recall the Dead had their greatest mastery over the energy -- from soaring heights to hardly moving and everything in between. Truly, it was a place that they could rightly call home, even if it wasn't in SF.
I never did get a chance to see a show there after it was refurbished and called the Kaiser. In a way I'm glad as it was always the Oakland Aud. to me.
