I was so blown away by hearing St. Stephen and Cosmic Charlie that I called DC-101 radio and told Jerry Strider, the late-night DJ, about the set list. He broke away from the standard playlist and played some Aoxomoxoa for the folks driving home from the concert.

I was hooked.
That evening I wondered how I would ever be able to hear the performance of St Stephen again. It was stunning. Thank you for Dick's Picks.
It was a blast of an evening, and now permanently enshrined on polycarbonate for perpetual listening enjoyment.
First real travel for a show...........remains one of the best ever!!!!
Caught the bug and life was never the same...
:-)
I knew right then that there would be many more....
Anyone from the area remember when Weasel (and some other DJs) used to play lots of Dead on WHFS in the 70's? Man, that used to be a great station!

I went to this concert with my brother Mason & our friend John. It was great to hear the band live again after their break from touring in 1975. (We had to survive on LP recordings then.) It was the first of many good shows for us in the DC-Balto area in 1976-81. And, I do remember Weasel on WHFS playing the Dead tunes!

My mom dragged me to this when I was 13 and life was never the same...150+ shows later & counting...can't wait for Philly 2009...I'll be there with bells on!!!!
This was also my first Dead show. I was 16 and remember the free Sky Suite tickets I received that allowed us to get to the show while the equipment was being set up. This show hooked me all the way. Even the warm-up set was fab. It was all good. Farewell to Cosmic Charlie...So long ago...
As for WHFS, if not for them, there would have been little if any Dead on the air and no Feat. They Rocked!
