This night the Jerry/Keys Jam "Inner City Sewage" Drums "Mechanic Egg Foo Young" Space "The Rumblings Of Your Bowels After 1,000 White Castles" Check Out My Orignal Music at myspace.com/salaversano
I drive 200 miles from Potomac, MD to NJ. I get to the train station in Matawan, NJ and meet some Heads that were in town from Chicago. They are sitting in a circle on the platform smoking something I had never smoked before. We talk for a bit and they ask if I would like to pop a squat and join them. Very cool, friends on the train and we can look after each other while off our rockers. My first experience with Opium. Not bad but never done again. I get to the show and buy a ticket from someone off the street. Tickets were so hard to find that night. A lot of fake tix and undercover police around. I finally see this dude and I buy my ticket without looking at it. Paid a lot of $ for it and sure enough it's for the next nights show. With 7 minutes to spare as I'm yelling for someone to trade tix with me, it happens. I didn't care where my seat was, I just wanted in. Met my new friends by chance on the walk into the Garden and we dose.
Great show, great people and a very fun train ride home ! HAHAHA
I followed these 6 shows up immediately with 2 Merl Saunders shows and then back to the Garden for a Meatloaf/Allman Bros show. What a great two weeks.
Excellent To Lay Me Down!
This show has the best Other One I ever saw live, and the only one I saw live in which Phil did the traditional "earthquake" intro riff. It also stops on a dime, which is interesting. Worth hearing.
to this day the 'EYES" still make the hairs on my arms stand when Vince just takes off on that island sound, and Jerry tries to get him down but Vince showed us he was rite for the job.
those where just the best shows. i still jam to em as much as i can.
