What I remember most was the He's Gone 1st one after Brent's death I think every lighter in the house lit and many tears
Yes, the lighters during He's Gone. Brent, we still miss you!
This was a great run, many call it the last great shows that they saw. Fun jams heading into drums....
The He's Gone stands out. That was chilling. The Dead fans aren't known to gratuously flick lighters, but that night they were overwhelming and appropriate.
Yes - the lighters during He's Gone was the big memory. Followed by how awesome the Tennessee Jed was in the 1st set. Re-listening (again and again) on the DP certainly corroborates that memory.

the first pairing of LOO
the first pairing of HE'S GONE and LOOKS LIKE RAIN was in PHILLY after Brents death. the lighters at these great N.Y. shows were nice but it is no match for the emotion at the spectrum SHOCK is the only way to describe this first playing of HE'S GONE. stangers stopping strangers just to lend a shoulder. the most profound moments i had at any show. i knew then that they understood. never so sad at a show.i think they tried to duplicate it at the garden it did not have the same impact, ask ANYONE who saw the two show i think they might agree
yeah the lighters I do remember. But Philly was the klenex show. That he's gone was a tear jerker.
So Happy a birthday show ended up on a Dick's Picks

Location
Good show when relistening to the DP, but man was I spent after a looong weekend.
