Mickey had the first solo. Then Bill.
I remember the pumpkins on both sides of the stage. I saw someone running down the street with one after the show. We were so dosed my friend tried to jump into a police car. I think we scared him. then the riots the next show
Yeah pretty dosed at this one.... remember the awesone jack o' lanterns they carved that were around the stage? My 1st Dead Werewolves. RIP Ethan
It wasn't the best show but it sure was fun. Our UNC Deadhead group chartered 3 buses from Chapel Hill, so about 120 of us Tarheels invaded the other Carolina for the Halloween feast of the Dead. The show started off great but after the Music Never Stopped, the Music stopped. The energy somehow got sucked out of the band. The second set was short and not that inspiring. It was a little bit of a letdown especially after the hot start of the show..
I converged with 3 old friends and a hefty sack of dried fungi (more old friends) for this Halloween party. The opening of "Space /Werewolves combined with the visuals of the lights and jack-o-lanterns sent thingsu to another level.
3 of us goblins melted into our nosebleed seats, unable to move a muscle (or wanting to), being one with the tunes while one werewolf prowled the Coliseum the entire show, only to appear when the lights came up.
No complaints on the first set but things did appear to fade as the night went on.
this was one of my favorite shows i enjoyed jerry monster(space) it was allways fun during a space jam to scream its ja monster a jerry monster and watch heads freek out show 83 for me
my second show--remember the weirdness. i have the contract for this event. only time they played as Grateful Dead in SC.
Location
This campus show had many first timers, who were stunned at the Space opener, wondering why the Deadheads were going nuts and "would the whole show be like this? Uh-oh."
This show was fit really nicely with my energy and attitude and I was flying high.
One note is that drums was two solos, first Billy, then he left and Mickey had the stage. Nice jam out of the drims solos, rather than Space (which they already played, remember).
