Gr8ful to have been there, too. I was recording with a hand-held Sony and endured too much crowd chatter. I still have the cassette and am very anxious to find a clean board. If Lemieux ever stumbles across one, along with the 18th, too, please let us know! What a great place to see a show.
recording a couple of years ago. Both nights. Sound is not the greatest (being very kind) but it sure takes me back whenever I hear them. One day the miracle will occur and we'll have both nights clean. . .
Thought the acoustic set was even better than the night before and the electric was strong. Still not the best Dead show ever but a great time and it was nice to see them back in the Big Easy. Have some old cassettes of it somewhere but it was hard to tape these shows and got them from a friend. Highlight of the two nights was, and you can hear it clearly on the 10/18 show, was somebody yelling out "Let Phil sing!" and Phil looks up and gives him the finger and the crowd roars! Too bad there's not any good quality recordings out there as some of the stuff from these two nights is better than what ended up on Reckoning.

and show number 4. I was amazed. On the way out of the Theatre I was stoned. I saw a friend of mine, Melinda Smith. I could not speak without crying but I did not know why. Less than a year later she killed herself. Today I am Grateful.
