One of the things I remember about this show was I lost my wallet at a Howard Johnson's outside of Boston on the way and just by chance I had taken my ticket out just before for some reason.
Also, on the way there me and my friend 'Gus" ran into some nasty traffic on the Expressway and Gus had to take a piss so bad he was freaking out. There was no way we could stop as we were on the elevated part so he pissed in an empty beer bottle. Filled 2 of them. I don't think I have ever laughed so hard!

This for me was an amazing experience I went up with a bunch of friends from High School form the burbs of Beantown. Only about a 3 hour drive ( I still go by here alot I work at Colby College a few times a year). As we get into Augusta we decided to get beer a stop at 7/11 showed us what to expect from the show and crowd peopel were just walking out of the store with cases of beer because the line was too long ( another reason deadheads got a bad rap) . Then we get to the Civic Center which to me just seemed like a glorified Field House. I got in early got close to the stage and began the wait ... I loved these got all the songs I wanted to see was there with friends from home . when I got home my mom had clipped an article from the Boston Globe maybe it was The Herald "Riot in Augusta" I wish I could find a copy of this if anyone has a copy of the article I would love to see it again
Such great memories form this show. Finally getting to see the boys up close and personal and see Phil just jammin on the first six string bass I had ever seen. It was from these two nights that I knew that I was going to own a six string bass which I finally achieved in 1990. I have always love this Shakedown opener. When it was happening I did not realize how monumental these shows really were till a few years later and it was cemented when I found out about archive.org and these were the first shows I downloaded. The Oades tapes to me represent what this shows really sounded like. One memory is falling asleep the next day and waking up just as the boys were getting in and watching them from my vantage point along the woods in the back trying not to get seen.
yeah, st. misbehavin' was there. first time I saw things gettin out of hand. damn alkies! but, as everybody notes, the shows were great and more than made up for it!
