This show took place in ATLANTA, at the FABULOUS Fox, not in St. Louis. How do I know? Out of over 100 shows, my only one with front row seats.

I was in the front row over at the extreme right, very close to Brent, and trying not to fall into the pit. We had plenty of room to dance though. Jerry played very crisp leads throughout, he seemed to me to be just burning to increase the tempo. Brent was dishing swirly grooves that I COULD NOT WAIT to hear again on tape, because I thought most of the night it might be the 'shrooms. (Had a fine pre game pie at the Magic Mushroom across from the Varsity, don't think the Shroom is there anymore...) This one blew me away. I too think this was the best show that I attended, from 9/3/77 to Jul-95 (low 200s).
I used to listen online to a show out of Columbus MO, The Professor, once a week. He could play an hour's worth is all. Well one week he played this show from It Must Have Been the Roses thro' Fire on the Mountain. These versions from this show quickly became my all~time #1's for EACH song. Truly amazing.
I did not attend this show but my best friend Gus, rest his soul, was there and taped it. The jam during Scarlet and into Fire was about the best that I have ever heard and the Wheel was exquisitely beautiful.
Was at Work, "Production/Stage Mgmt" But did best could for diverse reasons for attendance. Must always be on best behavior at work !!??!

This was the show. I will come back and write more but out of the hunderds of shows that I was fortunate enough to see this was the absolute cream. You can go listen to the tape and it will sizzle your ears but nothing on this planet is like having been there with that intimate, extra dressed, dolphinized, elite group of people and with the band in utter top top form. Not to mention an amazing venue.Truly a life altering event.
THIS SHOW IS LISTED AS HAVING BEEN IN ST LOUIS, NOT, IT WAS IN ATLANTA. THE REAL FOX THEATER!
