RFK was my usual summer spot, hard to get away from work, and the boys stopped coming to Hampton. I really enjoyed this show and, of course, had no idea it would be the last. Thanks for the memories!
Great show! I always missed Box of Rain. Either outside or too long gone. Glad I showed up to this one with my head on straight. And yes I too still have my tickets for the closing of the Garden.
My 100th (I marked my 1st, now I need to find the other 98). Took my 8 year old son to his first, as I felt there was symmetry there. Sitting near a field entrance, my boy saw a balloon go past and broke free from me and rushed the field. Security guard saw movement and lunged, when he realized it was a little kid, I don't know how he got stopped. I apologized profusely, and I've never seen a security guy get so many high fives and slaps on the back from heads.
This was my last show, after 16 years of planning my life around Dead East Coast Tours. I saw over 150 shows, probably closer to 200.
Only with the Dead could you see that many shows and see them perform a song you haven't seen them do before. For me, a few shows before this, it was "Loose Lucy" at Giants Stadium. This show, my last, was my first "Rain".
Makes me want to laugh, makes me want to cry......

I cannot add much to the wonderful sentiments here. I share them all. I'm getting shivers up my spine reading them.
This was a great show, and couldn't have been scripted any better. I was in front of the stage for the peppy Set 1, and mellowed out in seats across from the stage for the calm, but very muscally rich Set 2.
Some kid complained to me during Shakedown that he hated that song. I told him the best show I ever saw opened with Shakedown. He smiled & his eyes lit up like I just gave him great news. I wonder what he thought after the show.
Closed w/ Brokedown Palace. Enough said.

My last my sons first, it was a fathers day gift and that made it the best. The music never ends.
This was my first show and last show. Like the comment above, I was immediately hooked. I was 14 and this was my first concert ever. Decided to go with my sister, drove from ohio, got soaked in the parking lot before the concert. Jerry's vocals on wharf rat still give me chills when I hear the recording. Thanks for the memories.

I remember playing hackey sack out by the stadium gates and hearing them jam St.Stephen inside. The gosh darn security guard wouldn't take a bribe to let me in though :(

This really was a great show, it was pouring rain during the second set and we had an awesome time dancing in the mud, out in the back of the field. They played all the "rain" songs which was fun. The second song of this set was a cover of Beatles song "Rain" and it's true, we didn't mind! Wharf Rat was cosmic. And of course, Brokedown was the perfect encore for any show, and especially this one which turned out to be my last. It brought a tear to my eye that night, and still does to this day thinking about it, 12 years later.
