My first show!
Although I had seen the Dead at the Human Be-in in '67, this was really my first show. I totally got it, fell in love with it from the first note, and remain so to this day. Life changing, and I'm still grateful.

And, the only concert I've ever attended in my life... I was in L.A. from MCB 29 Palms visiting a friend, and while there, we ran into another kid who told us about the show... We beat feet down to the Bowl and I gotta say, I had a great time... I didn't know squat about the Dead at that time, and haven't become a rabid fan since, but still, it's one of the better memories I have... Great vibe, good people, excellent mind altering substances shared generously, and some of the worst wine I've ever had in my entire life. But what can I say...I had a monstrous case of cottonmouth... Oh, to be 18 again...
