Attendees of this show
My favorite show I ever attended! The Band and the audience were both completely into the twnetieth anniversary thing. Every time I listen to the Morning Dew from this show I can't help but shed a tear. This three day event was one of the highlights of my life!
When it was getting close to show time the energy was really high in the bowl. Everyone anticipating the event. There was just this big air of something getting ready to happen. I had never quite seen it like this. You could see activity and the crowd was sensing it but no one was coming out. Then you heard the start of Sargent Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band and, "It was twenty years a go today". We all went nuts. It was quite and emotional moment. Then out they trotted and took some bows and played the Dancin'. The place to be in the world at that moment.
the place to be ,,,, for this three day run i hitched up from santa barbara,,, ticketless selling fruit kbobs,, with a ssighn readind dum ded doo de doo little deee all we need is three ,,i met some friends;),, gdp hooked us up for face value right off my head,, smoked some op in the circle up high near the goats,,,,,,wow,,, was it all just a dream???comes time...............keep on growin,, silly humans trips r for kids!!
I remember my friend Paul jumped up on stage Fryday nite - he was on the wall in front of Jerry & he said later that Jerry kept nodding at him & telling him to "come on up , come on up". We are wathcing the show - & all of a sudden we're like, Shit thats Paul up on the stage! Security let him out & he found us again where we were sitting
Anyone remmeber Hank?
The right side of the P.A. system went dead during "Hell in a Bucket"(go figure)and they took a short break. It looked grim until they came back with "Keep on Growin" and "Stagger Lee",and smoked through the rest of the first set.It was almost like a three set show! It was also the only time I remember them opening the second set with "Morning Dew".The Greek shows were all very special to me.
First time ever backstage.
Gary(Peeper),his wife & kids & my buddy Monk all went backstage.Wavy Gravy,Angels & Billy Badass all hangin' out...w/ a full bar & it was the "20 Years So Far" gigs.
I remember Dan Healey playing games w/ Bobby's vocals & overdubbing crazy messages on the PA.
Smoked Marlboro's w/ Brent & some hippie lady who had peacock feathers in her hat...we enjoyed them more that she knew! :D
