My guy and I were ushering this show, got in early enough to sit at Jerry's feet during sound check. He also played pedal steel with New RIders BEFORE the Dead. Incredible energy: Pig Pen was still playing and singing,the crowd got higher and higher! I was coming down with a nasty case of bronchitis, by the time we got through the end of the first set(they repeated last last lines of Casey Jones over and over and over until we were all screaming the words) I could only squeak to talk.

I was supposed to work the next night too but I was too damn sick. Still regret it!
