I had to beg for this ticket at a headshop on Telegraph Avenue in Berkeley. I wasn't even aware of the shows. I had heard the radio announcer while showing up on my vacation, in my new VW bug on Highway 101 in the San Mateo Area. After giving my beg speech, the headshop person quietly went to the back, behind a large rug curtain, and pulled out one, precious tix. Got my picture in rolling stone for that gigg..and folks, i'm lookin' at pig pen, belly up at the stage. New Ryders of the Purple Sage are delightful. "Last Flying Eagle" is a US national tune. the show seemed to go on forever, as it was the second time I ever smoked pot. (thanxs, by the way) keep your character, enjoy living, share your fortune,

Although Deadbase and other sources point to 8/18/70 as the debut of "Truckin," "Ripple," "Operator" and "Brokedown Palace," most likely one or more of the above songs were played on this night. However no actual recording has sufaced to verify the complete setlist.
