My 4th show. Mike Barr aka

My 4th show. Mike Barr aka Demon's 1st show and a great unusual song selection and song placement. Had no idea what Fire on the Mountain was, especially as it came along with the kick-in and word was slow in those days of new songs.

Very fun show, lots of

Very fun show, lots of energy in the audience as well. I remember some of my first 'standing bass waves' during Cassidy, and a very trance-like slipknot! that went on and on.

Hot Scarlet!

This was a wonderful show that went on and on. It was early in the tour, so the first time many heard "Estimated Prophet" and "Fire on the Mountain" and the Dead version of "All Over Now."

The Scarlet Begonias was one for the ages. They launched into the opening notes with gusto, and the crowd leaped in unison to begin dancing. In the second set, they seemed to be ending early with "Round and Round" after a "Help on the Way-Slipknot-Franklin's Tower" jam. Then Jerry kicked in with the GDTRFB run from the quieted singing at the end of "Round and Round" and the concert rose to a new level. A great "Goin' Down the Road" with the traditional instrumental finish that slowly evolved into the Bo Diddley beat of "Not Fade Away." I remember being exhausted by then. Great stuff.

at the art museum

I always loved the Springfield venue. General admission seating allowed for floor seats and the pre-show activity included a visit to the museums. Scooter and I experiencd the art museum that first time in Springfield as we had arrived many hours early. Very cool.
