Catch the first glimpse of the unreleased 7/18/89 Alpine Valley show with this beauty of a "New Minglewood Blues".
If i bring my stub from this show do I get in for free?
Hoefully this is a DVD/Blu-ray release sooner than later. This was such a great run of shows. The FOTD is my all time favorite. Only let down would be Women are Smarter out of Scarlet. Oh well. Can't wait to see this again. Thanks David!
Everybody should bring squirt guns and spray bottles so we can recreate the rain.
Sounds good, nice set list too. It's even being offered here in Tampa at one of those bistro-cinema jobs. Count me in!
...to relive the experience by watching security shaking down the guy with the "Yabba Grabba Doobie" t shirts confiscating his duffle bag on the hilly walkway headed up towards the upper enterance while the other guy with the Joe Cool Snoopy blotter doses everybody.
With all of the "official" audio taping the Grateful Dead did,. they never got around to much video taping. Not sure why?
The only shows that are available for release are mostly the stadium shows from 1987 through 1995. The copy that is released is from the video screens, from either side of the stage.
These would be the only "pro" shot multi-camera angle video available.
Also a box set is due out with some previous releases, but will included....the old So Far video shot at Marin Vets on DVD and Backstage Pass on DVD. Both the first time to be released on DVD.
I think it is due out in May.
That dvd set is being released in April... check out "all the years combine" at shoutfactory.
I was at this run. One of the best runs I caught. The third night is amazing (epic Foolish Heart, TOO > Dew). A box set would be just exactly perfect...
Here is the idea:
Lets rally together to get this played at Red Rocks. They have movie showing there frequently, and I am sure it is a possibility. I don't know who to share this idea with that is able to give it a shoot. So, if you can pass the idea on maybe it will become a reality....... See you guys at red rocks
Moving up to Milwaukee in Spring 0f '85 I was ecstatic to find I'd be living about 30 minutes from Alpine. I attended all 3 of these shows and the rainy night captured here was the most magical for me, and my GF I'd brought to only her 2nd show. So where's the theatres for any MKE showings? It's the "hometown" of this concert. Please bring this to us, we really want to have this to experience again without having to drive down to Chicago...
