WINTERLAND June 7, 8, & 9, 1977
On a west coast music roadtrip and we caught the 6-4-77 show in LA and then headed up to San Francisco for the boys to finish what was a remarkable tour. Winterland was the Dead's 'home base' and these old stomping grounds were a wonderful place to see the band and they were obviously relieved to be home and to anticipate time off with friends and family. I still remmber hearing so many songs for the first time and when I look at my setlists from those shows I thought called Estimated was "California", and Passenger was "The Only Game in town", Fire was "Long Distance Runner", Terrapin was "Inspiration"and since the album wasn't out yet to correct me I called them those names until Terrapin Station was released on 7-22-77.
This venue was magic and the Dead were loose and happy. The Help on the 9th is stratospheric. I could tell more stories but lets get to the shows.

As it turns out, in my rush to get vines mailed out Friday I neglected to put the CD liner notes in the envelope. I am mailing these up to dstache post-haste, so he can reunite the art with the vine. Very nice setlists, too.
Sorry about all the trouble,
MarkintheDark
Received this along with 3 other vines today! Will post when I mail it on. Thank Oroboros and Markinthedark
