Notes:
- the sbd was downsampled to 16/44.1 with Voxengo r8brain and dithered with iZotope Ozone (MBIT+)
- quite a lot of the tuning is missing from the aud, I decided to delete the corresponding sections from the sbd so
that the sound flows more evenly
- sbd patches applied to aud

Spanish Jam
Strand Lyceum 5/24/72 We know "Hurts Me, Too" & "You Win Again" so well from Europe '72 - it's cool to hear them in context - it's comforting to know that these tapes are somewhere in impeccable form, too. What is available is an audience that has a lot of different gears, to put it mildly - I've been in attack mode with my pitch control for the past two plus hours!!! You can, however, settle in for a very good while on the jam disc. Please, break this one out powers that be!

The St. Louis Arena - that place used to literally rock! Now the acoustics couldn't hold a candle to those of the Fabulous Fox - that's why it was alternately endearingly known as the barn. I used to go to hockey games with various family members after the city acquired a franchise in the late '60's. 20,000 patrons, dressed to-the-nines - men in suits, women in dresses, wailing away. It's since been made disallowed, but while all were wailing they'd be smoking. By the end of the first period there'd be a huge cloud over the ice making it a challenge to see from one end of the rink to the other. I think back on it and I wonder how the players ever managed to finish a shift without collapsing from asphyxiation - in those days they were probably smoking in the locker room between periods anyway. Basta.
They, of course, had concerts there, too. I saw Zep in '73, Springsteen's "River Tour" but I was hours away from getting full-bore into the Dead so I missed them at the Arena. I've had the tape which starts with a cut into "Dancin'" and within the past year got the whole show on audio discs. This one holds a special place even though I wasn't there because they blew up the old barn and moved the team downtown - and it has the first Iko, Iko!
