Listen to the river sing sweet songs, to rock my soul."
Still lookin for a SBD. It will be an AUD recording for now but it sounds pretty damn good. Am listening to parts of it as we speak.
"I've stayed in every blue-light cheap hotel. Can't win for tryin. Dust off those rusty strings just one more time. Gonna make em shine."

Was that The Dead didn't play all 4 nights! I'm still skipping around the house just thinking about that 4th of July night.
I'm looking into seeding this show in the vine yard if anyone is interested.

Hey there,
I have to agree w/ direwulf above, Jeff was all over the keys Saturday night! His playing was so beautiful and so ON, the rest of the band just stepped back and let him deliver the goods. His solo on Eyes nearly brought tears to my eyes. I'm sure Jerry was smiling ear to ear listening to this performance by his mates. What a show!!!
The Dead must play again even if it is only at Rothbury every year on the Fourth of July! Come to think of it that sounds just about right!
Rothbury was phenomenal fun and had a great atmosphere. The scene was friendly and clean, people got crazy but generally acted very respectful and no one that I saw went too overboard with party favors so the overall feeling at the show was fun, relaxed, and for me a super friendly psychedelic atmosphere (something that I find is harder to come by nowadays). If you thought the spring tour was hot check out the playing from this night! Finally all the parts fit into place at once, Jeff was really loud in the mix, Warren was tearing it up, and the band was on top of their game pushing everyone into that special space. The keys were especially beautiful on this evening, Jeff deserves much praise and some of my favorite moments of the night came with his runs through the music. The setlist was great and the Viola Lee Blues seemed to make so much sense. With the dead throwing up many tangents to their early setlists and playing with the spring tour the connections came further with the big jam surprise of the night being one of their earliest jam spaceships, before dark star and the other one there was viola lee blues. When they busted this one out of space the place exploded I think a smile fell on almost every face just from the amount of energy released. This show was unbelievable and needs to be heard to be believed. The dead are back in true force and form and if they head out on the road again, everybody better get ready!
Wow, what an experience!
Thank you Rothbury folks for getting such a sweet lineup this year.
Please bring back the Dead for next year!
What a time. Hope they can do it again, so if anyone missed this festie this year, they might be able to plan and attend next year.
Many cool memories at this festie alone.
Weather was terrific, peeps were strangely present, Sherwood forest was awesome, and the music was top notch.
Next up....
