Old topic getting too big. Post prospective new vines here instead!
is good. I have received several vines that haven't had it listed anywhere in or on the package what vine it is. Makes it lots quicker for those of us down the line.

You'd be amazed at how many people have no idea what they signed up for or how to go find out what vine it belongs with - because they don't pay attention - that's why alot of people don't post - because they have no clue where the package came from or where it's supposed to go next. I generally include a note with the vines I start- set list, generation information, original source. etc...
And this is why many people are against the rules. Honestly, I think it is becoming a little ridiculous. Having to say what vine it is? C'mon, you can't figure that out from the discs that are inside. I have never had that problem.
I prefer documentation on the inside of the package. I guess that's part of the documentation we missed - oh well - we can do a supplemental instructions / tips thing. I always try to include some sort of note & set lists etc... with the vine - and these should stay with the vine, so people know what vine it is & what is on each disc.
BTW - there is a new vines 2009 topic - I'm surprised Marye hasn't locked this one up yet.
I posted a link to my vining spreadsheet there.
Am with you on that one. But the thought has crossed my mind, what if the mailman is a head and sees it is the one show he was missing? :-)

Eric and all thanks for your hard work on this. One suggestion I would like to make is that the vine title be wrote on the back of the envelope. Most of the time it is just discs that arrive and with the abundance vines it sometimes is difficult to locate the specific vine title in the vineyard to determine the next person in line. I have not had good luck with the search feature on the site. Just my 2 cents. thanks again to all that have donated their time and shows to make this a grate place. Todd
Thank-you CosmicBadger your Vindex it is my first stop when trying to decide what new gift to offer.
I never thought it was 'notoriously out of date'. I saw it as you have described, a gift to us out here. A gift that allows us to see where we are on this journey. A gift the is maintained by someone who has a very special eye for detail. Please continue to update it when you have the urge.
If there would be any shows you desire to listen to when you get back to your home, please let me know.
Be careful on your travels, Indonesia is not the healthiest place for badgers.

sorry that the vindex is 'notoriously out of date' The observation is of course 100% true, but I am not sure how to improve the service.
I have been updating it every few months when I have time to spare and feel like doing it. Each update is dated in the hope that folks can check new vines after that date, but the release of new vines has accelerated so much that it get out of date quickly and checking back takes time. There was at some point a suggestion that everyone issuing a new vine should also update the Vindex, but the general view was that this is too complicated to happen reliably. I am very happy to continue updating the Vindex as and when I get round to it and will try to do so quite soon to coincide with the relaunch of the vines, but if anyone wants to to volunteer to run a more regular update service or suggest how to make it better then don't be shy to step up!!
On a related note I am just about to post on the Vindex a list of all officially released show dates, not compiled by me but obtained from another place.
new vines that linger here will be launched and their info posted in the new topic. Thanks and vine on!
