We've been listening to you, and we've just added new tools to the site that we hope will help address some of the issues you've been raising.
Note the new filtering tool at the top of the Recent Posts page. Whether you want to go straight to a particular area, or eliminate it from your searches, that's now easy to do.
Likewise in the discussions. There are some navigational issues that, for the moment, we can't solve, but we can help you work around them. Specifically, those who want to see most recent posts first and those who prefer to see them last can each have their wish.
We hope these enhancements help you feel more comfortable and at home here, and we welcome your comments and suggestions as we continue down the road.

I haven't figured out Media Post Form either. No doubt all will be revealed in due course. In an Easter Egg maybe.
I really dig that "newest first" deal. That way I don't have to go in to the post and then hit the "last button" to see each comment.
I haven't checked out the "Media Post Form" yet. Is that the same as "Add Content"?
It's fun to explore these new upgrades.

oh, and by the by, is there an 'ignore user' thing? meaning, I can click on something to basically make some folks' posts invisible to me.
not naming names, but some shit keeps floating to the surface all too often in recent days. most of all, I'd like to be able to ignore myself, so I will not see all of the crap I've wrtten while a bit inebreateid.

Definitely digging the new filtering, it's a huge help. Thanks for the thought and effort. One thing that might be nice, though, if it's not too whiney. If the Filter By Type combo on All Recent Posts defaulted to All instead of Venue, absent a way to make a default selection persistent to each user, it might be more generally applicable. Not that I'm complaining, mind you. Thanks mucho for all the obvious hard work that's been going on around here lately!

have it pretty much the old way if you set it that way. I'm essentially doing that, only with more posts per page.
I really like the approach of having options.

I hear ya on the, darn it we have to learn something new thing, and why can't we just have it the old way?
I remember when this site first went up and it would open up to stars and planets and you'd have to hover over an entity to see "Family" sites and such.
I think that's why they call it the World Wide Web...cuz learning it causes you to go into different directions you'd never thought you'd see and then all back again.
