Folks, in the course of much-needed spring cleaning I ran across a disc David Gans made me years ago of a Grateful Dead Hour that included a lot of excerpts from my Jerry interview in 1987. I'm listening to it now...
Anyway, I checked with David and it is okay with him if I vine this, so I offer it up.
While I hate listening to myself doing interviews anyway, this particular one certainly highlights the difference between doing interviews for print (which this was, originally) and broadcast. Let's just say if you INTEND to do an audio interview, learn from my lame example and do not say "uh-huh" at 30-second intervals. I remember well that this gave David fits at the time, and lord knows I can see why. Argh!
Nonetheless, I offer it up in all humility. Since I am fairly clueless about this stuff and am just putting the files into iTunes, I am quite willing to send the original to the first person on the vine, provided they copy it, vine the copy, and send the original back to me. I think this will result in everyone getting better quality.
