Hey Randi- it sounds like you are as psyched as Donna was about the album. I talked to her after seeing her in Florence at the benefit show for Scott Boyer on April 4th.
She mentioned that she wanted to sit in on more songs in the jam session, but that life was very busy and she was pretty tired. I asked about the progress on the album and the weariness that was obvious in her face melted away.
Here's a photo from the Scott Boyer benefit show-
That's Bonnie Bramlett in the background on the left, Donnie Fritts, Topper Price and Donna.
Remember that? I do
I love her voice, and when she was touring/recording with the Grateful Dead it was their greatest music in their careers. I can't wait to hear her in person again.
Experienced DJ and Tricksters in Port Washington, NY a month ago and really enjoyed the show, only one set, although Mookie sat in with NRPS in the second part of the show, and Donna jumped in for a few as well as the lead guitar (Mike??). This was a really upbeat and alive gig...and the Riders with David Nelson were outstanding and jammed away.
The new DJ and T is a great band, seen some shows and good time has been had by all.
the jamming is great new songs are wonderfull and the "good old" stuff is well the great.
Find em, see em and like me you'll come back for more,
Loving Donna Jean with Zero! The last CA run especially, she seems to have relaxed into the role. What a sweet lady too! And she can still belt it out too.

We're in the process of setting up a live broadcast of Donna Jean and the Tricksters from the KPFA performance studio on Wednesday, September 19. I'm so glad they're coming to California!

DJ&tT upcoming self-titled album is going to be absolutely awesome! Watch for some giveaway samplers, including two cuts from the new record, at festivals this summer!
Great to see the Zens back on LI! Keep coming back! We really miss you guys. But you could probably tell that much from the turnout in Port Washington.
All the folks familiar with the Zens know that they could back up the best, and by themselves are definitely a force to be reckoned with (and enjoyed)!
But with Mookie and Wendy, and Donna Jean, there's a whole lotta shakin' going on!
And Dave's back! And they ALL SING!!!
How cool is that?
The DJ & the T site is pretty cool, too. Nice logo.
Take a listen to Gomorrah performed at the Cervantes Ballroom Link (to Mog)
Saw her play with Kettle Joe's Psychedelic Swampfox Review back in February at The Narrows and really enjoyed it. Dennis did a funny write up about the band's name change but I can't seem to remember where I saw it, in an email perhaps...oh well, check her out she's still wonderful.
"if you get confused..."

The lead guitarist in DJ&tT is Jeff Mattson, oncefuzzy. These folks will all get several chances to jam together this summer at American Roots Music Fest, Gratefulfest, Bear's Picnic and who knows where else? It's gonna be a fun summer!
