Well, I guess since taking it out on the little baby seals has fallen into disfavor if you have to club something books will have to do. Seems like there's plenty of books down here need clubbing, though.

AlaskaGirl is in Alaska, Safe & Sound (well - we'll think about that last part) - busy hiking & enjoying life & looking for work & lodging - so she will be AlaskaGirl here soon - but it may take her a while - what with book club & whatnot (Book club?) Got to get the priorities straight - in the meanwhile, nobody take the name AlaskaGirl - I reserved it for her - she just needs to respond with the last little bit of effort to achieve all that she can be - AlaskaGirl. I've been sending her hurry up emails - but given the fact that she sold her house, travelled all the way across the continent (by herself) and is doing book club before finding a job and place to live - I doubt she'll listen to me (nor should she)
Received today, thanks BS1969NJ and Erickat! DVD is ripped and burned. Converted first show and, assuming the other 2 + the 2d source for 6/21 convert propertly, will go out tomorrow.

They look like good places to be. I heard from her - She's in. I tried to get her to register on the site, but she had trouble. I registered her as AlaskaGirl - with her email - she just has to finish it off now - then she can post herself. I suggested that at least she write the story up for readers digest & get a hundred bucks - but she's shy about that kind of stuff. I guess she's also kind of busy doing dumb stuff like looking for a place to live & a job & whatnot.
That would be a good place to be in Anchorage, for two reasons:
They're having a release party for their Eisbock beer ("big, malty, slightly fruity and high in alcohol") tomorrow, and they have a Market Price Blue Plate Special where the special costs whatever the Dow Jones avg for the previous day is, so tomorrow it'll only be $6.88.
Then again, might need to check out the Sleeping Lady Brewing Co.
