Grateful Dead
January 21 - January 27, 2013
Welcome back to the Tapers' Section, where this week we'll hear music from 1977, 1978 and 1989.
The New Year's Eve show on 12/31/77 is often overshadowed by 12/29/77 (understandably so; that show rocks!), but there was plenty of good music on 12/31, including this big jam of Truckin'>Jam>Wharf Rat>Drums>Not Fade Away>Around and Around; One More Saturday Night>Casey Jones. There's a cut in Not Fade Away, but it's not too bad.
We've played you some 4/22/78 music from Nashville, and this week we have the start of the second set, featuring Lazy Lightning>Supplication, It Must Have Been The Roses, Estimated Prophet>Eyes Of The World. That's a bit of a rare second set Lazy Lightning>Supplication, but a good one nonetheless.
Back to more New Year's run music, with tunes from 12/28/89 in Oakland. This time we have the entire first set, featuring two of the bigger Bob jam vehicles, Stranger and Let It Grow, both excellent versions: Let The Good Times Roll, Feel Like A Stranger, Dire Wolf, Little Red Rooster, Ramble On Rose, Queen Jane Approximately, Just A Little Light, Let It Grow.
Thanks for joining us, and be sure to come back next week.

I honestly didn't think the day would ever come. My faith is restored. You guys are great, thanks...
just not listed on the homepage for some reason. We're on it. Meanwhile, find it here.
will pass on that there are still issues with those three.
lethedoom is correct, all but December 6-12 2010, February 14-20 2011 and February 21-27 2011 have been recovered...it's still possible to access them through other means (read: wayback machine). The actual links here lead to weirdness, namely the comments for the given entry, but minus links to the music...
Dianna, our new web developer, has been working on this, and from what I can tell, all the pages are restored to the Tapers Section chronological list, and a random selection of them, at least, works just fine.
I notice that some of the restored pages have what I strongly suspect are different names from their originals, which may render them inaccessible from old links. I'll see if this is reasonably fixable, but in the meantime, if you go to the Tapers Section page and click your way to the year of your choice, you should find everything okay. Please speak up if you do not.
The dates you listed are indeed missing. When one follows the old links to those pages, they lead to weird places. Presumably, both marye and the web techs know about the issue. At least the pages can be retreived using the Wayback Machine. I'm pretty stoked they've got most of the missing dates up finally!
Tonight I find that all but December 6-12 2010, February 14-20 2011 and February 21-27 2011 have been recovered which is great work, but like stoltzfus I am disappointed that january-28-february-3-2013 has not appeared today. Perhaps it will light up tomorrow for us.
as is the estimated.
