Welcome back to the Tapers' Section, where this week we have music from 1973, 1979 and 1980.
Our first stop this week is in Cleveland on 12/6/73, where we have this big batch of first set material: Bertha ; Mexicali Blues ; Loser ; Black Throated Wind ; They Love Each Other ; Beat It On Down The Line ; Deal ; El Paso ; Row Jimmy ; Greatest Story Ever Told.
Next, from the excellent December, 1979, we have music from 12/7/79 in Indianapolis, from the first set: New Minglewood Blues ; Tennessee Jed ; Me And My Uncle > Big River. This early Brent sound is so fresh.
Lastly this week is the third set opening sequence from 10/2/80 at the Warfield, recorded from the cassette master: Drums>Comes A Time>Lost Sailor>Saint of Circumstance>Terrapin Station>Playing In The Band.

The soundboards for all the Warfield/Radio City runs, Zuckfun. We know some excerpts exist in the vault.
I agree with you wholeheartedly that there needs to be whole show releases and wish the remaining members of the band would collectively voice their request for tapers with good copies to come forward and proffer them for enhancement and release.
As I recall, it was quite difficult to get taping equipment into these shows, let alone set it up and get a good FOB aud., so there probably isn't much out there of good quality. But who knows?
I know I would order both box-set editions of Warfield and Radio City if they came out individually or buy the whole enchilada if packaged that way. To me, these shows represent the very best of the Grateful Dead, then just having passed their 15th anniversary -- though I'm sure many would disagree (it seems many always disagree).
I especially like the guitar tone Garcia chooses for the solo on Comes a Time (of course, the vocal snafu has the little Jerryism we love). Sailor/Saint is high energy as well. Interesting placement of Terrapin for sure. Looking forward to releases from this run also...
I too would love a release of a Warfield or Radio City show from 1980. I'm unsure what exists in the Vault, but it's high time an entire 3 set wham bam acoustic jam show emerges and sparkles like the timeless diamond.

Related question: I seem to recall reading or hearing, way back, that a lot of the September-October shows got erased or some crazy thing (so all - or most - of those glorious multitrack masters from which Dead Set and Reckoning were made are gone). I see that this streaming selection is from a cassette master - and it sounds nice!
Does this mean there is a possibility for more Vault releases from these shows? Are there any of these shows in multitrack?
WRT the '79 clip, Mr. Lemieux's apologies, but he himself turns out to have only audio that cuts off after Big River!
WRT the munged '80 clip, we're on the case.
Comes a Time, Terrapin, Stella Blue. What more can a Jerry ballad fan ask for?! The Holy Trinity!

Never heard an '80 Comes a Time before. Wonderful. Nice solo from Jerry on Lost Sailor. And I really dig the color of Brent's vibe-like keys on those first two songs. Great song sequence all around. Really nice, nuanced (but still juicy) Terrapin jam, too.....
