Snow in Hawaii too!

Yes, it actually does, on big island, on Mauna Kea and Mauna Loa too. They're volcanos.

I hear ya, not sure how much music gets to old Hawaii. Hell, I once saw the Dead and the Stones the same day! I bet there are some locals making some mighty fine music somewhere in the islands, so many creative music-folks have made it their home, or home away from home. Any how, you got big surf and great bud, here, there is still snow on the ground!

Late

I would love to see big acts like the Stones and Bruce, but most of the acts I listen to don't exist anymore. I like Jimi Hendrix and John Lennon who are all dead. I love the Dead and would love to see them in concert, but I can't so this is great. I would much prefer Furthur if they ever toured my area.

biggest moment of my life....

Hey hisfamily, I hope you are being sarcastic! There is SO MUCH great music out there, seeing our old friend Bill play drums in a second-rate jam band simply cannot be the musical highlight of your life, even if you missed seeing the great big chugging engine that was the Dead live.

Amazing

I am too young to have gone to a Dead concert, so this is the closest I will ever get to a Dead concert. I never met somebody that ever heard of the Grateful Dead before, but I can imagine a few Deadheads at the concert. O ma gud I am soo happy. This is like the biggest moment of my life.

RE: setlist

Not quite sure what they will do this time but I'm guessing it'll be much along the lines of Chris Berry material. This is what the Tropical Jam 4 lineup did around New Year's. It was actually very good - my first exposure to Chris Berry / Pangea.

You can hear the New Year's show from Maui on the Live Music Archive posted under Chris Berry Trio.

The band lineup for this coming week drops Patrice Blanchard on bass and adds Bobby Vega and Steve Kimock.

And for the comment about playing the Big Island - I was surprised about that too. Chris Berry is a new Big Island resident!

Aloha

heh, like random Hawaiian music

played by that lineup would be a bad thing...but my sense is they'll stick with the type of stuff for which they're more known, which runs more to jam bands.
