vFirst of four programs featuring the complete Grateful Dead performance of March 19, 1977 at Winterland.
Blair Jackson recently wrote about 3/18/77 in his Golden Road blog, and mentioned 3/19 as well:
I went to Winterland the following night, too, and though I’m sure I had a good time, here’s what I actually remember about the 3/19 show: nothing. And you know what? All in all, it’s probably even a better show (the tapes told me years after the fact). But 3/18 was my show, and it always will be.
Both shows are pretty dang memorable as far as I'm concerned, and the closing night of the run ain't too shabby either.

I can close my eyes during this wonderful Bertha and I'm right back in the front row of the balcony straight out from the stage at Winterland. I wish I wasn't so tired and it wasn't so close to bedtime (4:30 comes early), or I'd listen to this whole thing right now and be drooling in anticipation of next week's. I've always said this run should be a boxed set, and I'm RIGHT!
Another Winterland box would be swell...
This was my second trip from New Orleans to SF to hear the Grateful Dead, and my first run of shows. These three March shows were all killer, and I haven't even listened to this one again yet. Best memories of shows come from these three . . . well, and a few others, like the '77 year-ending shows at Winterland . . . and Jackson, MS in Dec. '78. Thanks David.
