A friend of mine who left for his final road trip about 15 years ago told me he went to a Led Zeppelin concert at MSG in NYC, then jumped in the car with a bunch buddies right after the Led Zep show and drove all night to the race track @ Watkins Glen....and got there just as Jerry G. started to play the opening guitar licks for the song Bertha. Talk about perfect timing!
They missed the legendary sound check the day before. But he was SOOOO grateful when I gave him a tape of the sound check. His musical experience finally came full circle.
Hey, that's what DeadHead friends are for, right? ;-D
