It was Elizabeth. oh it's the big one I'm comin lizabeth. funny stuff.
that if McCain had shown a tenth the class in his campaign that he showed in his concession speech I would certainly have liked him better.
marye! was very impressed with mccain's gracious concession speech.
Don't part with your illusions. When they are gone, you will still exist, but you have ceased to live.
McCain was genuinely appalled at how his campaign became a haven for ignorant bigots. It was a very interesting moment a few weeks back when he was out pressing the flesh in the heartland and this idiot woman comes up saying, "I'm SCARED of Obama! He's an ARAB!" The look on McCain's face was pretty priceless, and he set her straight about as vigorously as he could.
He seemed truly and righteously ashamed of the people in his crowd who booed Obama, and I admire the way he made it clear that he would no longer put up with this shit.
I suspect in his heart of hearts he's glad to be rid of his puppeteers.
i saw that look in his face too! he was truly appalled by the boo's. really too bad and so sad that kind of ignorance!
I think throughout the whole deal that both were good sports. They complimented each other and so on. Think your right Mary about the puppeteer thing. We'll just have to see what happens now. for me just want to go home.
Oh yea this was really a pic of him putting his hand on his heart for his supporters but I couldn't resist the satire.
Let the Dead bury the dead!
he was checkin' fer his wallet after being surrounded by all those thievin' politicians
I've been living in NC for a couple of years after being a lifelong New England resident. Big change! This was my very first experience in a "battleground state" during a Prez election year, and the campaigning was over the top. We received dozens of robo-calls and live calls....of the ones I listened to (started ignoring them after a while) every single McCain call was negative (including the innuendo that Obama was a terrorist), every single Obama call was more of a get-out-the-vote type. That McCain used the same tactics that the Bush camp used to sink McCain in the South in 2000 just pulled the plug on the respect that I'd had for the man.
The concession speech helped restore that respect, and it drove home the fact that electioneering has become the lowest form of politics that there is. Avoid the media barrage, learn what you can in other ways about the candidates, make your choice an informed one...and vote despite all the crap.
Glad it's over...nearly gave ME a heart attack!
"I used to be disgusted, now I try to be amused..."
Definitely agree lowest form of politics. Maybe lowest of anything to much drama and BS.
gratefaldean, whre in NE are you from? I'm originally from RI.
